Chagrin Falls High School Senior Session

Oh, how I love fall!  Mix that with an awesome high school senior session with a cool chick like Kara and you have perfection.  Chagrin Falls was the the perfect backdrop for her High School Senior Pictures!

There’s nothing more calming then the sound of leaves crunching under your feet as you walk through the trees as they start to reveal the beauty they’ve been hiding behind lush greens all summer.

Kara’s session was the embodiment of fall as she finishes her last year to head off to college.  A young girl on the brink of growing into the woman she will become is at that same stage as the beginnings of autumn.  Both have the potential for greatness. Both have been waiting a long time for a big change.  Both have the ability to inspire awe. Fall is such a great time of year for High School Senior pictures because it is such a big change, which is within reach yet still on the horizon.

I love Chagrin Falls.  It’s a quaint, photogenic town where it’s eclectic characteristics blend perfectly with trendy juxtaposition.  Kara was a great sport, eagerly agreeing to the different areas I suggested for her pictures.  Although a little nervous to be so close to the waterfall, she was excited at my suggestion to sit on the ledge underneath the overlook.  This is my favorite spot to just sit and listen to the rushing of the water of the falls.  Kara’s warmth and excitement for her session made this spot a must-go-to for her pictures.

After playing by the water, Kara decided to change and we headed into town for pictures.  I love going off of the beaten path, so I took her to some of my favorite shooting locations to get that “just perfect” look.

We finished just in time.  It was just starting to drizzle when we went our separate ways, but not before I snapped one last picture.  Such a great time hanging out with this awesome chick!

Falling in Love at Aurora’s Sunny Lake

Yes, I know…It’s a cheesy title for a fall engagement session but I just couldn’t help myself.  Marisa & Greg met me at Sunny Lake in Aurora for their engagement session.  With the whisper of autumn starting to show, we decided to do their engagement session while the weather was still somewhat predictable…if you call 75 degree weather in mid-October after seeing 35 degrees and snow the first weekend in October predictable.

Since Sunny Lake is right around the corner from me, I frequent this park often.  I like to go running here because it’s so picturesque and serene.  I also bring our pup, Krush, here for walks go get out some of his Pomeranian energy out from being crated during the day.  Having such great knowledge of the park really paid off.  I was able to use some of the nooks and crannies I’ve found throughout the years for some killer early-autumn backdrops.

These two are just the sweetest couple! They were up for anything I suggested and we were laughing and smiling during most of the session.  Marisa has the best personality and Greg is so kind!  These two compliment each other so incredibly well.  Marisa even made a banner from scratch for her save-the-dates. How cool is that?

Playing a little bit with fine-art photography, Marisa and Greg were more then willing to be candidates for my little experiment.

What do you think?

I am so incredibly excited for Marisa & Greg’s wedding in June next year.  It’s going to be a great day!

A Cleveland Wedding at the Western Reserve Historical Society

This wedding is just too fantastic for one blog post so I’m breaking it up into two!  Part I is all about Molly and Roger’s wedding at the Western Reserve Historical Society in University Circle.

Roger is a professional “Romantic Kiss Dipper” for sure.  That perfection makes me want to marry my husband all over again!

The day started out at Bella Donna Salon & Spa in Painsville.  There was a flurry of activity while everyone was getting their hair an makeup done.  In between the hairspray and powdered foundation was lots of laughs and emotion as everyone was finishing up their final touches.

We popped over to the hotel as the girls got dressed and ready to head over to Western Reserve Historical Society.  Molly received a special letter left by Roger filled with loving words of their journey together so far with hopes of the future that has yet to unfold.  Champagne was poured, a lip-sync battle was sung and laughter was free flowing.

While the girls were getting ready, Roger and the guys were at the ceremony site getting themselves all dapper.

Once the girls arrived, the boys were shooed away so Molly could get in and dressed without being seen.

Molly decided to do a First Look for her father.  It’s obvious that he couldn’t be more proud of his little girl!

Then it was the start of the wedding where all of the guests were delighted and anxious for the ceremony to begin.

Molly and Roger opted for a Unity Cocktail to symbolize the joining of their marriage.  This was a first for me, but I absolutely loved the idea!  Super creative and definitely memorable!

They both wrote their wedding vows and when they were finished, there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd – including myself.  Their words were just as lovely as their hearts.

Yet again, Roger shows of his super-amazing dipping kiss skills as he kisses his lovely bride for the first time!

Such a lovely ceremony!  Check back for their one-of-a-kind reception at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

A Lovely Wedding & Mediterranean Party Center Reception

Remember that wonderful rainy day in Ohio this past summer?  I know there’s a lot of them, but this was the day that it shut down all of Marblehead and Port Clinton.  Northeastern Ohio streams became rivers and rivers became…much larger rivers.  Well, I little rain didn’t hold us back from making sure Chi’ & Ron’s wedding pictures were just as fun and elegant as these two lovebirds are!

The day started off nice and relaxed.  Everyone was relaxed and we had more then enough time to make sure all of the details of getting ready went smooth.  Both Chi’ & Ron seemed like they were cool and calm while getting dressed, but both of them were bubbling with excitement and anticipation for the ceremony.

The wedding was just as touching as it was beautiful.  Chi’s son was choked up with emotion as he proudly gave his mother away to the man that not only earned his respect, but a respected place in the family.

Both Ron & Chi’ had difficulty containing the love that they had for each other.  A moving sermon by the Pastor showed the congregation’s full support and welcoming as these two were invited to exchange their vows.

After the ceremony, we had planned to head to the Cleveland Public Library for pictures because of the rain.  To our surprise, and my containable excitement, there was a lull in the downpour with a teensy weensy bit of sunshine peaking through the clouds.

Chi’ had expressed how disappointed she was that we couldn’t get outdoor pictures.  Checking my phone to see what the all-powerful weather radar had in store for us, we decided there was a break in the rain long enough for us to stop by a local park on our way to Mediterranean Party Center.

Not too shabby for pictures that were taken while thunder rumbled ominously in the distance, if I do say so myself!

After pictures, we headed over to Mediterranean Party Center to kick the rest of the evening off.  I absolutely fell in love with the lighting and details at the reception!

The reception moved quickly, but it wasn’t rushed at all, as the speeches – both funny and filled with nostalgia – began.  Right after was Ron & Chi’s first dance then onto the cutting of the cake.

Everyone was eager to hit the dance floor.  It didn’t matter if they were young, old or somewhere in between.  Everyone was on cutting it up and having a great time.

Despite the gloomy weather that hung around for most of the day, it was great spending time with these two!  I love a bride and groom that’s willing to risk dodging raindrops to get some fantastic shots.

A High School Senior Session in Brecksville

Jill is the lucky girl to kick off the year with our High School Seniors graduating in 2016!

Not only was I lucky enough to photograph this funky chick with loads of smiles and personality, she came to me after being recommended by her mother’s coworkers.  We met down at Brecksville Reservation because it has such diverse backgrounds in the small area we used.

Where else can you find a meadow with tall grass, a completely wooded area and a unique industrial-inspired bridge that’s light blue?  Oh wait, that would be the quaint little park in Brecksville Reservation!

I am so happy Jill’s mother set up her Senior Session with me.  I had lots of fun laughing with this chick while capturing that smiley personality.  Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and I hope this school year offers you nothing but the best!
