Stan Hywet Hall Wedding + Tangier Reception

I’m anxious to go through and edit Efua & Chris’ beautiful wedding pictures, not to mention Allison & Josh’s engagement session from downtown Willoughby.  Unfortunately, the CPU fan in my computer has decided that it’s overworked and underpaid so it quit on me.  Although a new, more enthusiastic replacement will be starting next week – as soon as I get that bad boy it’s installed and I’m back to work immediately – I decided to post a wedding from last year for a Throwback Thursday visit.

Sabrina & Sam’s wedding at Stan Hywet Hall was amazing.  I had my right-hand girl, Tara, hanging out with me throughout the day.  We had waaaaaaay too much fun playing in the gardens for pictures after the ceremony.  I swear, I could fill up an entire day with just one session there!  Afterwards, we headed over to the Tangier in Akron for their reception.  The evening was filled with heart-felt stories of the newlyweds, laughter and so much DANCING!  Samba, Chabatta and Salsa were the dances and music of choice, filling the hall with so much energy that I couldn’t help but swing with the beat of the music.  Such a great day that I will always remember.

Voinovich Park Sunset Engagement Session

Camilla and Jacob are two special people that I have the good fortune to photograph for their wedding.  Although their hearts reside here in Cleveland, Camilla works in Central Ohio and Jacob currently lives out of state (like…really far away from Ohio out-of-state).  They take turns commuting – sometimes flying other times driving for loooong hours – about once a month to see each other.  Add that to planning a wedding here in Cleveland!  Talk about adding stress to your regular work week.

Friday was the second-to-last day of Rock Week for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the induction ceremony concluding the week’s festivities on Saturday.  We were fortunate to have no crowds and beautiful weather for their session.  Such a beautiful day for two beautiful souls.

Akron University Engagement Session

One would think that the first day of spring would bring Ohio lovely warm weather with birds chirping and the sun shining.  Unfortunately for Efua and Chris’ engagement session at Akron University, mother nature had a different plan.  The brisk air and chilly wind forced us indoors for most of the session.  Their little ones hopped in for a few pictures as we moved from inside to outside once the flakes started to fall.

Although we didn’t intend to take snowy winter-ish pictures,  I must say the flakes added such a pretty flair to their session!

Brecksville Reservation Winter Engagement Session

For the month of February, Northeastern Ohio had broken quiet a few records for snowfall and below zero temperatures.  This did not deter Chris and Liz, two winter loving snow-bunnies, for wanting an engagement session during their favorite season – winter!

Their wedding, planned for February of next year, is centered around the crisp and clean look that only an Ohio snow can bring.  Hopefully, mother nature cooperates and we have snow for their big day.  Until then, we decided to play in the snow for their session.  They were great sports to take off their jackets and lay in the soft white snowy fluff, even though it was only eleven degrees outside.

Here are some of my favorites from their winter engagement session!

Cleveland Wedding – Windows on the River Reception

Laura and Cory’s wedding was the perfect event to end our 2014 wedding season.  I couldn’t have had a better couple to finish out the year!  With Cleveland as the backdrop to their day, I made a list of places that had that Cleveland industrial steel spirit to take indoor pictures.

Knowing their reception would be at Windows on the River, I was elated to find out they took my recommendation of choosing the Forty O’Five place for their wedding pictures.  I knew Laura was quite heartbroken that the Hyatt Arcade was not available for her pictures, so I made sure to pull out all the stops with her pictures.

The reception was nonstop fun, dancing and laughter.  Windows on the River always knows how to put on a great reception and the venue lived up to their amazing reputation.  This was an awesome day and I’m happy to be able to share these uniquely Cleveland pictures!
