I met James back in my college days at Notre Dame College. (South Euclid campus…no association with the University in Indiana although I’ll nod my head in dumb agreement if you assume otherwise) We became good friends but life, in its cruel and time-consuming ways, had us lose contact with each other over the years. We were Facebook friends, but we all know how those past school friendships gradually slide into occasional acquaintances.
We bumped into each other at a Today’s Bride Event a few years ago and reconnected. He was there as a vendor to help engaged couples with financial planning for their weddings…or purchasing a house…or getting out of debt…or setting up retirements and 401K’s and disability insurance and pretty much anything and everything that has to do with investments and financial planning. You know, the things that make some (mostly me) peoples’ heads spin once statistics and projected retirement growth is mentioned. (That’s why I have an accountant on retainer!!) Long story short, he set up my husband’s and my retirement investments as well as a handful of other important future planning steps. You can check him out at Western & Southern Life and request a meeting if you need this kind of stuff.
Anyways, he ended up getting engaged to this awesome chick and I was hired to photograph his and Erica’s wedding. This was one of the weddings I was looking forward to once they booked me and I wasn’t disappointed. Jokes, laughter and random outbursts of songs with musical accompaniment was spread throughout the day. James and his brothers put a band together in High School and still perform at local bars and clubs. He pulled Erica on stage during a live performance and asked her to marry him in front of the audience. Too cute, right? So music was the pulse as the events unfolded.
I cannot put into words how amazing this wedding was. And a reception at Pine Ridge Country Club? I never knew that this banquet hall was on my list of ‘places I must photograph a wedding at before I die‘ list until I walked into the hall and saw how breathtaking it was! The food was amazing and the staff was wonderful! I highly recommend having your reception here…and I know just the photographer to hire to take the pictures… 😉
