North Olmstead Wedding – Pat & Sarah

There is truly no greater joy then sharing the wedding pictures with my clients the very first time.  Saturday I met with Sarah, Pat and Sarah’s mother to see their wedding pictures.  I love creating a DVD Slideshow as a finished presentation to showcase my favorite pictures that tell the perfect story of their wedding day.  Needless to say, it was an amazing compliment to hear that it felt like they had the opportunity to relive their day all over again.

Below are a handful of my favorites from their wedding.  Every time I look at them, I can’t help but smile so I just had to share!

Edgewater Park Winter Engagement Session

Even though our winters are long and grey and cold, no one can argue that the snow makes the chill worth it.

I had the opportunity to play in the snow with Samantha and Mike.  Even though it was a bit windy by the lake, we took advantage of the Cleveland skyline to make a unique backdrop.  Afterwards, I took them over to some of my favorite spots to take pictures at around Edgewater.  Even though we were all a bit chilly, the pictures turned out fantastic.

James and Erica – Willoughby Hills Wedding

I met James back in my college days at Notre Dame College.  (South Euclid campus…no association with the University in Indiana although I’ll nod my head in dumb agreement if you assume otherwise)  We became good friends but life, in its cruel and time-consuming ways, had us lose contact with each other over the years.  We were Facebook friends, but we all know how those past school friendships gradually slide into occasional acquaintances.

We bumped into each other at a Today’s Bride Event a few years ago and reconnected.  He was there as a vendor to help engaged couples with financial planning for their weddings…or purchasing a house…or getting out of debt…or setting up retirements and 401K’s and disability insurance and pretty much anything and everything that has to do with investments and financial planning.  You know, the things that make some (mostly me) peoples’ heads spin once statistics and projected retirement growth is mentioned. (That’s why I have an accountant on retainer!!)  Long story short, he set up my husband’s and my retirement investments as well as a handful of other important future planning steps.  You can check him out at Western & Southern Life and request a meeting if you need this kind of stuff.

Anyways, he ended up getting engaged to this awesome chick and I was hired to photograph his and Erica’s wedding.  This was one of the weddings I was looking forward to once they booked me and I wasn’t disappointed.  Jokes, laughter and random outbursts of songs with musical accompaniment was spread throughout the day.  James and his brothers put a band together in High School and still perform at local bars and clubs.  He pulled Erica on stage during a live performance and asked her to marry him in front of the audience.  Too cute, right?  So music was the pulse as the events unfolded.

I cannot put into words how amazing this wedding was.  And a reception at Pine Ridge Country Club? I never knew that this banquet hall was on my list of ‘places I must photograph a wedding at before I die‘ list until I walked into the hall and saw how breathtaking it was!  The food was amazing and the staff was wonderful!  I highly recommend having your reception here…and I know just the photographer to hire to take the pictures… 😉

Katey & Steve – Briarwood Golf Course Wedding

Although the day was a hot and muggy June day, the scene couldn’t have been more beautiful for an outdoor wedding.  We made use of the shade as much as possible as I took pictures of Katey and the girls while Tara took pictures of the guys.  As guests arrived and waited in the banquet room to escape the heat, we were able to snag some pictures of the hall before tables were claimed with personal belongings.

After the ceremony, we walked around the pond of the golf course to get some shots of the bridal party.  Personality was the focus as we distracted the group from the heat to get some great shots.  Looking at them now, one would never guess that the temperature was hovering around 90 degrees.  The dance floor was packed as guests took advantage of the photo booth that was set up through Boothographers.  Some of the props even made it to the dance floor, making for some hilarious moments.  Although it was toasty, Briarwood Golf Course is one of my new favorite venues for weddings!

Michelle & Ray – Avon Lake Wedding

This was a great wedding out in Avon Lake.  Not only was the day relaxed, allowing for extra time to capture details and expressions, but laughter was in abundance the whole day.  Michelle and Ray are a part of two families that are oblivious to the term ‘stranger’.  Cris and I were treated like one of the family the entire day.  This made for such an open, honest atmosphere that the pictures came out beautifully.  With the weather being nothing short of perfect, looking back at the pictures makes it hard to believe that we were in Ohio the entire day!  Who knew Lake Erie could look so beautiful?

The reception was at Tom’s Country Place in Avon.  The hall was beautiful and spacious, the DJ had everyone on the dance floor all night long and Ray even serenaded the crowd towards the end of the evening.  Both Ray and Michelle made sure to celebrate a birthday, stopping the music so everyone could sing while the candle was blown out.  We found time to sneak away to get some amazing sunset shots before Cris and I packed up for the evening.  This was a wedding I will be sure to remember for years to come!
